Everyone should know that electricity and water don't mix but a lot of people still expose their electronic devices to moisture in variety of ways. Generally, once the electronics of these devices are exposed to moisture, the end is nigh.
If you happen to be outside and it's going to rain, you should store your phone in a bag or pocket to prevent it from getting wet. This applies to cameras, tablets and all other electronic devices and gadgets unless they have adequate protection against the elements.
Even though some devices have some measure of water, dust or shock resistance, these devices are not invulnerable.
The best solution is to either use a protective case or cover provided you can find one to suit. Alternatively, you could always just make sure that you have some form of emergency water proofing (even a zip lock bag will work) just in case you get caught in the rain.
